│║ Progressive Metal group Threshold released one ║ │
│║ of 2012's best progressive albums, receiving so ║ │
│║ many glowing reviews and rightly so. Well now ║ │
│║ it's their guitarist Pete Morten's turn to get ║ │
│║ some much deserved praise for this great new ║ │
│║ album. My Soliloquy is Pete's other band who are ║ │
│║ also of the progressive metal variety and one ║ │
│║ which he formed long before joining Threshold, ║ │
│║ and now in 2013 My Soliloquy will finally ║ │
│║ release their debut The Interpreter and it's a ║ │
│║ good one. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ The Interpreter is sure to spark the interest of ║ │
│║ Threshold's fans and they wont be disappointed ║ │
│║ once they hear My Soliloquy's excellent modern ║ │
│║ progressive metal. Pete is so much more than a ║ │
│║ skilled guitarist and he really shows what a ║ │
│║ versatile talent he is taking care of lead ║ │
│║ vocals, guitars, bass and keyboards, in fact the ║ │
│║ only instrument he doesn't play on The ║ │
│║ Interpreter are the drums. Having contributed so ║ │
│║ much to this recording it really has to be heard ║ │
│║ to appreciate the amount of effort Pete has put ║ │
│║ in. Getting back to those vocals and Pete has ║ │
│║ quite a range and diversity that works a treat. ║ │
│║ Compared to Threshold's latest I would say this ║ │
│║ release is more diverse throughout. Take ║ │
│║ "Corrosive De-Emphasis" for example; if there ║ │
│║ was such a thing as progressive dance metal the ║ │
│║ start of this song would be it. Keyboards ║ │
│║ feature heavily on The Interpreter along with ║ │
│║ the guitars, as Pete combines the two so well ║ │
│║ and "Ascension Pending" is a great example not ║ │
│║ to mention a fantastic opener. ║ │
│║ There may only be eight tracks but there is ║ │
│║ plenty on offer as you begin to digest the ║ │
│║ variety and twists presented on The Interpreter ║ │
│║ and none of those songs are really that short ║ │
│║ anyway. My Soliloquy are another worthy addition ║ │
│║ to the better end of the progressive metal ║ │
│║ rankings. ║ │
