Hanne Kolst° is one of NorwayÆs most talented singers and songwriters. With
a unique voice and intuitive sense of melodies she lures you into her world
of clever lyrics and flourishing creativity. She loves to experiment and mix
genres û one moment she whispers softly in your ear, the next she howls with
despair.
Hanne is a hyper-active artist and songwriter, with six album releases in
the last four years. Her projects range from the epic 90's flirting of
Love:Fi to the mystical trip-hop-ensenmble Thelma & Clyde.
As a solo artist, Hanne Kolst°Æs performances are anything but conventional.
Her sound is composed of a mixture cold Casio synths, home-made beats,
acoustic guitar and layer upon layer of voice. Her music is pop, rooted in
the 90s, with references to PJ Harvey, Depeche Mode and Motorpsycho.
Both the solo debut Riot Break (2011) and the second album FlashBlack (2012)
received overhelmingly positive reviews from a broad range of Norwegian
music critics. Riot Break was also launched in U.S.A and Germany spring
2012. "FlashBlack" was nominated to the Norwegian Grammys (Spellemann) in
the categorie pop in 2013.
Hanne is currently working on her third soloalbum, Stillness & Panic.
