│║ Koen : Last year I really enjoyed listening to ║ │
│║ Taipan's 'Snakes' album and right now I'm ║ │
│║ enjoying their newest output 'Metal Machine' ║ │
│║ which once more was released through Killer ║ │
│║ Metal Records. The CD title says it all: this is ║ │
│║ heavy metal that needs no words or ║ │
│║ classifications. But of course I need to point ║ │
│║ out what 'Metal Machine' sounds like otherwise ║ │
│║ you don't know what you're missing! ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ The Australian heavy metal veterans (remember: ║ │
│║ the band was formed in 1979!) still know how to ║ │
│║ play heavy riffs and write catchy choruses. The ║ │
│║ strongest point about 'Metal Machine' is the ║ │
│║ broad variation in the songs. This demonstrates ║ │
│║ Taipan know their way around in the diversity ║ │
│║ within the heavy metal genre. This is great ║ │
│║ album that needs a few spins before its full ║ │
│║ potential reveals itself, but aren't those the ║ │
│║ best CD's that don't reveal their secrets from ║ │
│║ the very first moments? Just check it out! ║ │
