       "We bring you this excusive collection for Stones Throw Digital
       Discography.
       Madlib created Yesterdays New Quintet in the year 2000. As producer and
       arranger, Madlib had no grand plan for the project, but two albums were
       eventually released - Angles Without Edges and Stevie.
       As the project continued to evolve into what would be known as
       "Yesterdays Universe," with various new performers and spinoff groups,
       the original members of the quintet - Joe McDuphrey, Malik Flavors, Ahmad
       Miller, Monk Hughes, and Otis Jackson Jr - all had their own solo
       releases, privately dubbed the different "phases" of YNQ. The first
       spinoff was Sound Directions featuring drummer Malcolm Catto.Here are
       some choice cuts from the YNQ phases, circa 2002-2007, and one from Sound
       Directions with a surprise guest MC."
