          Notes:


          "NOCTIFER hail from Italy and play speedy War Black
          Metal, not unlike early MARDUK. The bandÆs sound is
          basic but not repetitive and the vocalist (Zrohell)
          is sending his vocal cords straight to Nodule Avenue
          on these songs. How one man can scream like this is
          beyond me. The razor-sharp and icy cold riffs only
          add to the overall intensity. Opener ôTotal Chaotic
          Emptinessö is the perfect example of this bandÆs
          modus operandi, with its raging vocals pounding
          drums. Yes, itÆs over before you know it but the
          subtle variations in the riffs and the occasional
          leads ensure that no trace of boredom is found here.
          ôWhite Warö is another speed monster with slightly
          industrial-ish drums but still the intensity is
          unmistakable. The closer, ôBattle In The Fogö is a
          slower number that effectively channels the mid-
          paced heaviness of bands like NAGELFAR and after
          enduring the uber fast opening salvo of this MCD,
          this one will slowly grind you into the ground and
          leave you begging for more."
