Jamie Anderson, aficionado of jackin, jazzy, Detroit
tech-house, comes up trumps with this 3 track extended
player for Honchos. Jamie follows his awesome remix of
Noel Nanton's 'Black Jacks' with three quality tracks for
the dancefloor. Title track 'Time Is Now' is a hypnotic,
snaking groove with a dash of disco strings and a bouncy
bass that keeps things moving along at a perfect pace. If
you got hold of Jamie's remix of Noel Nanton's 'Black
Jacks' then this is in similar mode. The vocal loop is
infectious and the piano riff echoes shades of Tom
Middleton's recent work. On the flip 'Deep Illusion' sees
Anderson dig deep into his influences with a dirty old
skool house workout, sounding like one of those Dan Curtin
12"s circa 1992. Chunky 909 drums and a heavy bassline
culminate with Detroit-esque strings to die for. Lovely
stuff. 'Awaken' wraps off this EP with some further
explorations into deep techno territories.
