     To say that the Innerspace Halflife duo of Ike Release and Hakim
     Murphy have had a prolific 12 months would be an understatement; this
     is their sixth, with another two records slated for the coming months;
     arriving on esteemed French imprint Syncrophone, it sees a weighty
     five tracks of analogue house and techno of the Chicago and Detroit
     varieties spread across four sides. On the first disc the thick bass
     and oppressive chord fog of "Orbital Contact" goes up against the more
     celestial "Evolution", whose rippling textures are elevated on
     syncopated rhythms; on the second disc, "Longing Isotopes" sees more
     muggy, concrete techno, "Ghoststeppin" provides one of their liveliest
     moments to date with a filtered synth snaking its way through a flurry
     of rim shots, snares and claps, and "Jaxcks" finishes off with an
     abstracted but flighty combination of hardware emissions
