Axel Boman's madcap stable of leftfield house tinkerings reaches out
to a fellow Scandinavian for this utterly singular EP of fearless
ideas, lo-fi mess and skewed 4/4 grooves. Opening track "Formodligen"
makes that neat trick of looping a mysterious vocal sample in
syncopation with the rest of the track for a disorientating effect,
but to be fair when the surrounding production is a clattering rabble
of sonic debris trying desperately to cling on to the rhythm it
sounds as normal as can be. "Melodi" deals in a sparser template of
snapping and snarling synth distortion and dutiful beat thumps, while
"Bra For Dig" slips into a deceiving hiss of loungecore burued under
white noise. As you might well surmise, this is an EP rich in
imagination and full of surprises.
