┌─── RELEASE NOTES ───────────────────────────────────────┐

│ Guest DJ: Scott Bradford (Lexicon Ave) │
│ │
│ House music never sounded quite the same since │
│Lexicon Avenue's sublime "Here I Am" appeared as the │
│first release on Forensic Records three years ago. An │
│awesome journey into deep funky tripped out bliss; this │
│was the first collaboration between three of the North's │
│most enthusiastic DJs and producers - Scott Bradford, │
│Mark Armstrong and Chris Scott. Since then there's been │
│no turning back, the track was picked up by Deep Dish a │
│year or so later and released on Yoshitoshi, complete │
│with two stunning new dub's which signalled the path │
│that Lexicon Avenue was intent on taking - deep dark and │
│dubby; a totally refreshing take on the progressive sound.│
│The progressive DJs embraced the sound and the dub │
│appears on Digweed's acclaimed Global Underground CD. │
│Midnight on West 27th Street (a nod to Twilo), Lexicon │
│Avenues second venture, was released in late 2000 and │
│caused world-wide dance floor devastation. Again the │
│emphasis was on dark, techy noises fading effortlessly │
│in and out of the mix, this time with a sub bass which │
│sets your nerves on end. 'Midnight' cemented Lexicon │
│Avenue's reputation as producers of some of the freshest │
│house music around and appeared on yet another Global │
│Underground mix, this time Danny Howell's Nu Breed CD. │
│ │
│ Forensic has also gone from strength to strength, │
│releasing consistently quality deep house and │
│establishing itself as one of the UK's best underground │
│record labels, whilst at the same time acting as a │
│launch pad for some of the North East's freshest talent. │
│ │
│ The lads' solid reputation has also caused an influx of │
│remix work. To date Bob Jones and Lofty's East West │
│Connection, L'Isha, Eagles Pray and Medway have had │
│Lexicon Avenue reintepretations - the latter 'Release' │
│is featured on Digweed's latest Global Underground outing.│
│Twilo's Sander Kleinenberg is also a big fan and uses │
│Lexicon's mix of East west Connection's 'Once I've Been │
│There' on his latest mix CD, whilst Danny Howells will │
│be using no less than five of the lads different │
│projects on his next 'Nocturnal Frequencies. Lexicon │
│Avenue also jumped at the chance to revamp the Shindig │
│anthem 'True House' by C+M Productions, which was │
│licensed to Forensic. Recently completed remixes include │
│'In your Soul' by Nick Holder on NRK and 'Breathe' by │
│Science Department on Renaissance, both of which should │
│appear shortly. │
│ │
│ With support coming from some of the │
│world's most respected DJ's and Producers it's not │
│surprising that Lexicon Avenue are becoming a force to │
│be reckoned with in the house music fraternity. │
│ │
│ Whilst Chris Scott is the producer who gives Lexicon │
│Avenue the unique studio sound they've become renowned │
│for, Mark Armstrong and Scott Bradford are the DJs who │
│are able to apply their knowledge from the only place │
│that these cuts matter - the dancefloor. Residing at │
│their own long established and well respected club night │
│Shindig at Foundation in Newcastle, they've also DJ'd at │
│Red Jerry's (of Hooj and Airtight fame) excellent │
│'Elements' night in London as well as 'The Gallery' also │
│in London; whilst Scott has DJ'd all over the world in │
│such places as Groove Garden and Giant in LA, Helsinki, │
│Oslo, Lisbon, San Francisco and Berlin. │
│ │
│The latest release on Forensic is Chris and Scotts 'Need',│
│produced under their Little Green Men pseudonym, │
│which Satoshi Tomiie is working on remixes of, but the │
│threesome have been spending a lot of time in the studio │
│and the remainder of 2001 is shaping up to be a very │
│successful year for Lexicon Avenue. │
│ │
│ Have FUN :) │
