1997 soul camp - the idea
werner niedermeier and sewdi sersseludis met in a bar in berlin
kreuzberg. sharing enthusiasm for same style of music. rooted in
hip hop and funk, moved to soulful (dance) music.
1998 soul camp - the project
forming dj and producer team. playing in numerous different clubs
and at exclusive events in germany, uk, mexico and usa. organizing
dj booking for sage club berlin. producing together and releasing
first track on sampler 'hot sauce 2' on chilli funk rec., london.
1999 soul camp - the label
getting more into deep electronic dance music with influences of
soul, jazz and funk. organizing bookings in monthly event 'kings
club' at club wmf.
2000 soul camp - the development
releasing three records on their own label including east west
connection remixes. producing record for liquid sound lounge rec.,
new york. exchanging work with lofty & bob jones/chilli funk, papa
recordings, audio sutra london.
2001 soul camp - the movement
spending main time in the studio. djing only few special gigs in
london, athens, barcelona and garito cafΘ mallorca. remixing terry
callier/east west connection (also remixes by dubtribe sound
system, san francisco), lenny fontana 'reach for the sky', reel
people 'reel time' (also remixes by dave warrin, naked music,
nyc). releasing four own productions.
