│ More man-a-warrior poetic guidance from the vocal chords of ││
│ Basic Channel man of words Paul St Hilaire, previously known ││
│ as Tikiman. Tiki's last waxing - the incredible 'Faith' ││
│ collaboration with Rene Lowe of Scion, released on his own ││
│ False Tuned imprint from late last year - shocked many heads ││
│ worldwide into stunned, grooving reverie. As summer waxes ││
│ and attempts to make a reappearance, the vibes are truly ││
│ right for this well conceived, bumptious digital steppa to ││
│ bomb dancehalls and sets around the world. Less open ended ││
│ than 'Faith' - 'Guiding You' digs in with an upful stance ││
│ similar in spirit to early Rhythm & Sound classic plates ││
│ such as 'Music a fe rule'. Tiki guides atop with spoken word ││
│ and sung harmonies, the rhythm bubbles and builds in proper ││
│ conscious style. "Dr.Æs Degree" is a deep, smoky burnt ││
│ flavour with a well unusual un-rhythm - cavernous effects- ││
│ driven dub proportions span out, deep textures full of ││
│ psychedelic sound take you into the depth of FTÆs studio - ││
│ enough said! "Roosty" is a song close to the motivating ││
│ classics of reggae-soul, think Horace Andy and you'd be ││
│ getting close to Paul St. Hilaire's true ability. Wicked ││
│ piece - massive styles. -boomkat ││
