│║ Winning, memorable, choruses with amazing guitar ║ │
│║ work and songs that I was sure that Desmond ║ │
│║ Child had his hands in, but I guess that the ║ │
│║ Swedish new band COVERED CALL are professional ║ │
│║ enough to write their own material in such a ║ │
│║ high class level. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ Just listen to their song "Hold On" and you will ║ │
│║ recognize that spark. "Nothing Lasts Forever" is ║ │
│║ a clichΘ but when it comes from COVERED CALL it ║ │
│║ sounds as an original thing that you have never ║ │
│║ heard in your wildest dreams. The lead guitar ║ │
│║ provides a feeling of freedom, that the whole ║ │
│║ world is in your hand with the grasp of the ║ │
│║ catchy chorus. I was so happy to see that Andy ║ │
│║ Loos, which was in one of my favorite band from ║ │
│║ the 80's GLORY, is with COVERED CALL alongside ║ │
│║ with Goran Edman, the man behind the microphone ║ │
│║ on the magnificent songs "Love Is Meant To Last ║ │
│║ Forever" and "Back On The Streets" on John ║ │
│║ NorumÆs debut album. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ "Live It Up" has a different direction, little ║ │
│║ bit Bluesier than the AOR direction of the ║ │
│║ album, and even here they did it great. The song ║ │
│║ reminded me a little bit of Eric Clapton & B.B ║ │
│║ KingÆs ôRiding With The Kingö. "Lorraine" is ║ │
│║ another great track, melodic Hard Rock with a ║ │
│║ nice backing vocals setting and powerful main ║ │
│║ guitar riff that enhance the song. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ I found the next 3 songs as the best tracks in ║ │
│║ the album: "When The Lights Are Out", EdmanÆs ║ │
│║ voice sounds so clear and fits as a glove to the ║ │
│║ melodies of the song. Great drums work by Ronny ║ │
│║ Svanstromer, making things interesting. "Think ║ │
│║ About All Times" is my favorite track, Goran ║ │
│║ reminded me a tad of Ian Anderson with the ║ │
│║ emergence of the chorus. This is a very sticky ║ │
│║ song with powerful chorus and a great C part ║ │
│║ prior to the guitar solo. The first thing that I ║ │
│║ noticed on "Look Into Your Mind" is yet another ║ │
│║ example of a great drum, a bit progressive but ║ │
│║ with a good taste, preserving the Rockish order. ║ │
│║ The tension of the drums tension enchanted the ║ │
│║ lead guitars, in the end a great song that will ║ │
│║ take your thought of the day away. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ ôImpactö is a sort of impact made by a fine crew ║ │
│║ of veterans, fighting for the sake of classic ║ │
│║ Hard Rock. DonÆt let this one slip off your ║ │
│║ fingers. ║ │
