██▌▄▀█ twelves and a double-pack of liquid soul. Comprising ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ of Malik Pittman, Theo Parrish, Kenny Dixon Jr, and ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Rick Wilhite, there's no shortage of pedigree, and I ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ really shouldn't have to tell you how good this ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ record is, as the names above speak for themselves - ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ but I like it too much not to. Opening the LP is the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ "3 Chairs Theme" which sets the mood perfectly with a ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ sub 120bpm groove, dirty drums and expertly layered ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ rhodes piano, add soulful vocal loops and a dash of ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ freestyle keys while the strings fade in KDJ style ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ and the night gets started. "Blackbone Waltz" takes ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ the whole of the b-side and has Theo Parrish written ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ all over it, the subby thudding kicks, low down acid ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ bass and absolutely beautiful instrumental layering ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ with ethereal droning voices over the top, truly a ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Master At Work. Next up head "System Sauce" for a KDJ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ classic, funked up disco loops, bar-like crowd ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ samples and awesome filtering across the drums all ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ smacks of KDJ, and the deep vibe that stems from all ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ the correct ingredients is here in spades, groove and ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ soul in copious amounts. Also the late night vibe of ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ "Underwater People" sits superbly as a late night ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ groove, slow kicks, lo-fi percussion and looped ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ detuned organs all make that perfect cocktail, and ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ the crowd samples and harp samples in the middle ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ breakdown adds a touch of light to the dark and smoky ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ atmosphere. With a further 6 tracks, and way too much ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ goodness for one record, it's a superior release from ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ the Detroit camp, what else do you expect with this ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ line up? Not cheap, but incredibly good. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Notes: The initial pressing on this release got ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ messed up and it took me 4 different copies until I ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ found one unmarked. Enjoy this incredible deep-house ░██▌▄▀
