`: You almost have to listen to the :'
`: album in sessions because your mind :'
`: starts to wander because it's so :'
`: long (about an hour and fifteen :'
`: minutes), but surprisingly, it's the :'
`: longer tracks that seem to stand out :'
`: the most for me because they have :'
`: the most time to evolve and keep the :'
`: album interested. :'

`: The overall mood throughout is best :'
`: described as a "sombre aggression". :'
`: The atmosphere here isn't up in :'
`: space, but it has a roomy enough :'
`: sound to still be atmospheric black :'
`: metal. The vocals this time around :'
`: have more behind them and the echo :'
`: effect is just set to the right :'
`: setting. On previous works, I :'
`: thought that Luxixul 's vocals were :'
`: too thin and delved into the DSBM :'
`: realm, but whether it's production, :'
`: maturity, or whatever, they just :'
`: seem to sound fuller here. :'
`: :'
`: The guitar work is straight forward :'
`: and consistent with what they've :'
`: done in the past, while still :'
`: maintaining an originality that's :'
`: specific to the album. The riffs :'
`: seem to be more memorable this time :'
`: around, and as usual synth is used :'
`: to fill in the void and create more :'
`: density, although there are a few :'
`: moments on the album where the solos :'
`: sound like synth which, to me, is a :'
`: downside, but a small one that's :'
`: easily overlooked. :'
`: :'
`: The atmospheric qualities really :'
`: open up on "Lupaus AeΣnett÷mΣlle :'
`: AeΣnelle" with layered guitars and :'
`: clean singing, which is something I :'
`: haven't heard from Cosmic Church :'
`: before (that I can remember anyway), :'
`: and it doesn't sound bad at all, :'
`: which is a huge plus. :'
`: :'
`: "Ennen" is my favorite track with :'
`: guitar work and tempo changes that :'
`: make it the most interesting, while :'
`: the opening track "Luon Perustani :'
`: Sinun Kallioosi" is more of a :'
`: straightforward and aggressive song :'
`: with long blasts of energy that I :'
`: can always appreciate. :'
`: :'
`: "KΣtketyn Tulen Vartija" reminds me :'
`: of something that could've been on :'
`: "Absoluutin LΣvistΣmΣ" because of :'
`: the slow monotonous pace, but it :'
`: does include some surprising guitar :'
`: elements that are a bit difficult to :'
`: describe. Maybe as a more "post- :'
`: rock" feel? The track also surprised :'
`: me at the end when rapid fire blast :'
`: beats and tremolo picks came in to :'
`: close the song. :'
`: :'
`: The album closes with "TΣydellisen :'
`: Valon AeΣrellΣ" which once again :'
`: displays Luxixul's full range of :'
`: fast and slow tempos, spacey guitar :'
`: riffs, and more clean singing :'
`: (although slightly less impressive :'
`: than on "Lupaus AeΣnett÷mΣlle :'
`: AeΣnelle"). :'

`: Overall I was highly impressed with :'
`: the aggressive drumming, surprising :'
`: guitar melodies, overall atmosphere, :'
`: fuller vocals, and variety in pace. :'
`: Luxixul proves with "Ylistys" that :'
`: he is more than capable to create a :'
`: aggressive atmospheric black metal :'
`: as a solo artist, and maybe it :'
`: should just stay that way. :'
