Butch Cassidy is 26-year-old musician,
writer and producer Michael Hunter who
over the last 7 years has recorded under
the name Pablo for Good Looking Records,
Guidance, Howlin', Fenetik and his own
Red Hook imprint.
Over the last 3 years Michael has been
putting together the Butch Cassidy Sound
System album project as a way to fuse his
obsession for rare breakbeats, Hip-hop,
early 70's soul and Jazz with Roots
Reggae, as he says 'because nobody else
has done it.Æ The results are pretty
amazing.
'Brothers and Sisters' is an uplifting
house tempo composition, that as well as
being very popular with breaks djÆs, and
became an end-of-night classic at New
YorkÆs legendary Body & Soul after it was
released as a limited vinyl 12". His
version of The Meters classic 'Cissy
Strut', on which he played all the
instruments himself, is a perfect mix of
funk and reggae.
