As one of their latest efforts,
"Heritage" is an "okay" album, but it
certainly lacks the freshness and fun of
the Irish Tenors' earlier efforts. Of
course, there are notable exceptions such
as Kearns' roguish "Off to Philadelphia",
the sprightly "Golden Jubile" and the
beautiful "The West's Awake" solo by
Kearns. The "South of the Border" solo by
Finbar Wright, however, seems as out of
place as a hot dog at a formal dinner.
With too many recycled songs and not
enough Anthony Kearns' solos, however
"Heritage" finds the Irish Tenors'
slipping near the brink of that sea of
mediocrity.
