█ █ This album pretty much sums up how you can re-hash old █ █
█ █ ideas, but stay relevant enough for more than a couple of █ █
█ █ listens, but only when the listener is in the mood for what █ █
█ █ lies within the parameters of the bands niche. Farscape █ █
█ █ come from Brazil, but a Germanic influence is defintely █ █
█ █ evident here. It seems their daily dose of Kreator or Sodom █ █
█ █ or any other speed/black band rub off here, but never ever █ █
█ █ is it taken to different places. And nor should you expect █ █
█ █ it to. Farscape are quite content to spit out tracks that █ █
█ █ bands like Destruction would admire, but effortlessly █ █
█ █ better just by picking up a guitar and busting out a riff. █ █
█ █ The vocals are extremely familiar to Petrozza/Schmier █ █
█ █ probably leaning more towards Petrozza now that I think █ █
█ █ about it. I can imagine Witchcaptor spent hours in his █ █
█ █ room, perfecting that trademark German style. In fact these █ █
█ █ guys sound German in every which way possible, from the █ █
█ █ guitar tone, to the riffs, even to the choruses. It feels █ █
█ █ like a blast from the past, but there are much lesser █ █
█ █ annoying undertones of other retro-thrash outfits. For █ █
█ █ example "Thrash until you drop" actually sounds good. Any █ █
█ █ other new band who put the word "thrash"in the title of █ █
█ █ their songs, are usually trying so hard to stress they are █ █
█ █ a thrash band, and repeat it three or four times, maybe █ █
█ █ more throughout an album. "Celebrate my death" has a real █ █
█ █ "Pleasure to kill" vibe to it, and if you're in any doubt █ █
█ █ that is a coincidence, then just listen to the rest of the █ █
█ █ album. "Captors of hate" is pretty much a cliche, I mean █ █
█ █ just look at the lyrics: "I try to eat christ's brain, the █ █
█ █ vomit reaches my throat". Was than an attempt to piss off █ █
█ █ the clergy? "Killers on the loose" pays quite a funny ode █ █
█ █ to Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak" but with some cheesy metal █ █
█ █ sentiments of the likes of "Up drinking all night" and █ █
█ █ "metal invasion-the fuel that feeds us". Meh...maybe it's █ █
█ █ time to wrap this thing up already. █ █
█ █ The album is pure homage, somewhat half-baked but still █ █
█ █ renders some thrash bands of the modern day inferior. These █ █
█ █ guys aren't actually trying to be different, or any more █ █
█ █ shocking than their heroes. They are just content playing █ █
█ █ thrash, and they love doing it. They do not see thrash as a █ █
█ █ joke, and although some songs might induce some giggling, █ █
█ █ they are dead serious when it comes down to it. There maybe █ █
█ █ potential, if perhaps they dig a little deeper and add the █ █
█ █ unpredictable to the equation. But the source material █ █
█ █ always outshines any band who gives it a try. █ █
