Since their Debut album, "The Dead Zone" New York's
underground Hip Hop has not been the same. Created out of
the all night ciphers on 96st (Manhattan) and captured in
a basement recording studio in Castle Hill (Bronx) "The
Apostles" are about to do it again. Consisting of four
poets (Mega Watt, Wink, Skills, and Icon) and a female
vocalist (Angelica Yulo) this group is comparable to
almost no one. Many have said they sound like a mutation
of "Organized Konfusion" and " Pharcyde."
Each one of them has a distinct voice. They change their
cadence and inflections until the words and syllables
become another instrument over the already innovative
beats of Watts Ink. Their topics range from love, lust,
freedom,, oppression, poverty, education and the perfectly
rolled *#@nt. Their new album "Apostelyptic" shows growth
and focus while maintaining the creative rawness of their
debut.
