: HARTFIELD are set to release their long-awaited debut :
: album "True color, True lie" domestically in the US on :
: Clairecords (and simultaneously in Japan on Vinyl :
: Junkie Recordings) on February 10, 2004. The album was :
: mixed by Scott Cortez of ASTROBRITE. Hartfield are a :
: part of the shoegaze movement in Japan. Their sound :
: combines dreamy melodies, noisy guitars, and breathy :
: and cute male/female vocals. As far as we're concerned, :
: they are at the top of their class Hartfield debuted in :
: 2001, when they contributed to the "SEVEN WINTERS" :
: compilation, which was released from "curse of MY :
: BLOODY VALENTINE". Prior to that, they released three :
: independently produced cassette singles and sold them :
: at indie record stores of Tokyo - and sold over 1000 :
: copies in Tokyo alone. In 2002, Hartfield signed to :
: Vinyl Junkie Recordings. They also participated in the :
: compilation album "Way of a Ray". Finally, they :
: recorded their long-awaited debut album on October 24 :
: 2003. In addition, Hartfield appear on the brand new :
: "Pacific Union" compilation Album, which is released :
: simultaneously in Japan (Vinyl Junkie Recordings) and :
