The track formerly known as Murder on the Crystal Meth second el-pee
finally sees the light of the day with a bunch of new club mixes. First
and foremost is the Creamer & Stephane remix, a progressive workout that
has generated a lot of buzz just recently and is one of their finest
remixes to date. Dub Pistols churn out an ok-ish mix and dub which is as
remote from their breakbeat sound of the heyday as one can imagine (in
fact, it's you generic cut-n-paste disco pastiche IMHO). Boris & Beck
re-surface from oblivion to serve the obligatory US/NYC-style hardhouse
tribal percussive mixes. Koma and Bones provide a nice breakbeat remix
that is one of their longest if my memory serves me right. Finally,
Digital Assasins, a Californian outfit, provide another tight breakbeat
remix that sounds more Kome & Bones than the guys themselves.
All in all, a nice package that will satisfy everyone on a wide spectrum
of club culture. Complete with a daft punk-rock picture of a blow-up doll
in Halloween-ish red/black/brown colours on the sleeve this is going to
appeal to everyone. Shame about the PC factor though...
