This cool Kat definitely sings the blues, but she's also injected some jazz and
rock influences as well as some funky horns into the mix, taking her music
several steps beyond the blues to reach out to a much wider audience. In New
York in 1997, The Kat had already performed with musicians from Buddy Miles'
band, and back in France Lucky Peterson invited her to join him on vocals for
concerts in Montpelier, in Paris, and at the Bagnois Blues Festival. Later she
performed with an eclectic number of musicians such as Bernard Allison, Ron
Smyth, Jimmy Johnson, Tom Principato, Maceo Parker, and Kenny Neal, and with her
good friend Boney Fields. For this debut album she has recruited Kenny Neal and
Jean-Jacques Milteau, as well as talented songsmiths Kevin Bowe, Guy Hans, and
Boney Fields; the latter also produced the recordings. Features four songs by
the renowned Kevin Bowe, who contributed to Etta James 2003 album Let's Roll.
