Notes:
Belgian DJ and producer Nico Parisi releases his latest work 'Soulit' which
comes with three wonderful remixes. Nico's tracks have been featuring
heavily on many sets and charts in the last 6 months or so. Most notably his
track 'Caress' (Philthy Chit Remix) was a popular choice on Paul Oakenfold's
Full On Flouro show. A testament to the quality on offer from one of
Belgium's legendary artists. First up the Original Mix gets us going with a
very smooth progressive vibe, the intro boasts a melancholic soft melody
which gives rise to a superb throbbing bassline. Nice big kicks enter and
deliver cool rhythms with the help of tight percussion arrangement. The
track builds beautifully as the melodies unwind and dominate the break. Cool
vocal samples come through on the break as the synths intensify before
slamming back into full on progressive mode for the duration. Excellent
stuff from Nico and no doubt we will be seeing a lot of this track in the
future. Sector 7 aka M.I.K.E. is up first on the remix with a proper gritty
progressive edged workout. Mike, as you would imagine continues to be an
extremely hardworking DJ and producer with gigs taking him all around the
world. Back at his New York base he delves into his studio to churn out some
of the finest tunes around and this remix is no exception. Pumping kicks
alongside a powerful vocal get the track started while cool percussive
elements build nicely and stamp out flowing rhythms. The bassline plunders
in and the whole dynamic changes taking us deep into the progressive sound.
Cool synth riffs wait patiently in the background before being unleashed on
the break in all their glory. Stunning work from Mike and sure to draw a lot
of attention. Audio Noir sure does get around. Not content with his own
quality productions, he lends his skills to other tracks with outstanding
results such as this. Audio Noir's Pressure Mix takes the progressive vibe
on the original into the deeper realms. From the get go we are drawn in by a
chunky kick and tribal led percussion arrangement with a massive resonating
bass coming from way down below. The vocals are used well with a classic
sample thrown to great effect. Intense synths sit back as the bass morphs
into a metallic sounding riff that dominates the break before the synths
show their full force. More top quality prog out of Australia that is most
definitely not to be missed. Rounding up this pack we have Netherlands DJ
and producer Thorin. Thorin has been responsible for a litany of top class
releases through various Bonzai imprints in recent years and he is also an
very much in demand remix artist and DJ. The remix blasts into existence
with a monster kick grungy bass combo, percussions slowly build and lead to
a fiery rhythm. The vocals have been give a gritty makeover adding to the
dark edge on the track. Fantastic synths loiter in the background as
hypnotic sound dominates throughout. The break offers a softer side to the
track before crashing right back into that solid progressive groove. Simply
stunning from Thorin and will no doubt feature in those tougher edged sets.
