UK production duo Darkhouse Family land
on Earnest Endeavours for the second
time with Brockwild EP, the follow up
to 2012's huge In & Out EP. Gargantuan,
hard-hitting beats are the order of the
day here, constructed from remains of
hip-hop and pushed through a futuristic
electronic filter. A loose, laser-heavy
groove underpins title track
"Brockwild" with processed Jamaican
vocals giving the piece more attitude.
Eglo Records mainstay Arp.101 joins in
on the speaker-melting "Arphouse"
whilst "Elephant Large" throws in some
clever samples amidst the tough beats.
Finally, "Press Continue (One For
Challis)" closes with mellow tones and
a stylish laid-back feel.
