Not to be confused with the 3" Il Cancello Di Morte internment by said
artist last year, this release rises somnolently from the same catafalque,
a shadow to its predecessor though not IN its shadow.

Il Cancello Della Morte begins with 'Last Rights', a pale vestige of a
soul drifting on the undulating passage through to unknown vistas beyond.
A vocalised threnody from times long past warps amidst the pulsating ether
while fingers rap on drums beating out a heart long since quiet. 'Creeping
Death' steals the listener from the shard of afterlife in scintillating
scabs of rasped noise that claw their way along the threads woven in the
first track; sinister menace erects itself on the pillars of deathly
passage a might fane devoted to malevolent end. Thrumming spiraled
patterns plumbed from depths chattering with never-ending ricochet whines
into view a palpable eventuality of death, 'Rigor Mortis'. Yet much like
the pathological phase it is not a permanent physical state, more prelude
to the rot that follows. Coiled noise with barbs of feedback sculpt
'Tapping the Spine with Razorwire', a track thematically isolated from the
rest with its literal title. Dark waves lap over the razor wire threaded
along some nether beach. Sere gales tear apart the mortal flesh of the
lengthy track, 'Dismemberment', a looping semi-percussive background that
eventually collapses into experimental noise before ascending assaults of
mellow wavering noise. 'Whispers of the Dead' continues Habeeb's tradition
with muffled, oscillating distortion haunted by wailing ghouls.

'Decension into the Blackness' is a twenty-minute ambience creeping across
frigid recesses where light is but a dream and true blackness,
overwhelming suffocating the visual senses, reigns absolute. Naturally
other senses compensate, the nigritude itself proffered as sound tunnel
through which one is falling. Ghostly, languid glaciers of granite
splinter and compress with the slow-motion descent and half-way through
the journey the rhythm of the underworld subtly crescendos, the veritable
heartbeat of the earth. Deeper yet and grim wraiths illuminate the utter
blackness as striated blurs of light. Fitting for such a journey would
be an arrival of the soul to pass beyond, yet what greets the traveler
is an instance unexpected before the raucous chorus of rhythmic noise
drags one through to a place from which there is no apparent escape.

The release comes packaged in a slim DVD case with printed accessories,
the artwork succinct and as ever from Somnambalent releases aesthetic.

MORAL DiSCLAiMER: We are very aware of the fact that our releases
contribute to the growing sale losses of record companies.
Unfortunately our style primarily targets small, independant labels
     that need sales to survive.

For these reasons we ask you not to distribute this release on public
sites or P2P tools; if more and more receive their music from the net,
artists and labels will have to face even less sells than nowadays.
Please do not consider this release as a substitute to the original, but
only as a way to check out and learn about new music.
We absolutely do not approve of DJs or other individuals that earn
money from pirated music - Don't let them get their hands on it!

By buying the albums you like you disperse the guilt we feel by
releasing this music - Enjoy the music and be fair with the artists!
YOUR support is required to keep them financially alive and producing!
