There are quite a few pop-punk bands knocking about, but South Carolina's
Brigades don't need to worry about standing out in a crowded market.
Following the self-released "The Last Laugh" in '12, their first EP on the
illustrious Pure Noise label represents a big step in maturity. Occasionally
careening off the pop-punk road into screamier, chuggier territory, it gets
pretty intense on "Crocodile Tears". It's not hard to imagine a crowd of
thousands singing along to the uplifting choruses of their old favourites
"The Writing On The Wall" and "Small Time Crooks" - the songs that started
their love affair with Brigades all those years ago.
