█ OK, we should have anticipated this. I don't know if it's because of the cheap-ass
█ production quality on the movie, or if the DVD author was reaaaaaly digging that song,
█ but there was a major (4 minute) difference between the video track length, and the
█ audio track length.
█
█ The DVD actually came with two (2) audio commentary tracks, which matched the runtime
█ of the video perfectly. The main audio, however, kept on going, jamming to a tune. I
█ don't know why, but that's what we saw.
█
█ I've included a VOB sample of the last few minutes of the film. We can clearly see
█ the video stop at the 1:18:49 mark (in the original film, or 03:49 in this sample),
█ and the audio keep going. If you switch to the audio commentary tracks, they stop
█ on time.
█
█ There's no point in cutting the audio, either. The possibilities for that are:
█ 1) The audio has a natural cut at the approximate end time of the video, so nobody
█ notices the cut audio
█ 2) The audio has no natural cut at the end of the video, so it's glaringly obvious
█ that we messed with the retail source
█
█ Both options mean we've modified the original in some way. Clearly unacceptable.
█
█ We present to you, therefore, that the only acceptable option was to leave both the
█ audio and the video in their unmolested form, even if it meant having no actual
█ video data past the end of the credits.
█
