█ █ Annica...Wow! What a great vocalist & band from Finland. █ █
█ █ The album "Badly Dreaming" from 1988 is the first and only █ █
█ █ album released by the Finnish artist Annica Wiklund. The █ █
█ █ original vinyl and CD editions of the album are super-rare █ █
█ █ collector's specialties these days, even the 2004 MTM █ █
█ █ Classics remaster CD is a rare piece as well, but I managed █ █
█ █ to get a copy through my regular retailer. █ █
█ █ I discovered this artist by chance as I watched an archived █ █
█ █ episode of the Finnish rock show "Rockstop" which was first █ █
█ █ broadcast in early 90's, it was re-broadcast last year...an █ █
█ █ affair of admiration & appreciation was born instantly. █ █
█ █ A beautiful singer with a fantastic, wide-ranged voice full █ █
█ █ of that sweet feminine roaring power & delicate clarity... █ █
█ █ Annica is just like Doro Pesch, Lee Aaron, Lita Ford & █ █
█ █ Janet Gardner. A great band delivering a forceful & █ █
█ █ graceful package of the real 80's styled hard rocking █ █
█ █ excellence to support this wonderful vocalist. God I love █ █
█ █ this album! It's all there, custom-made just for the likes █ █
█ █ of myself. Simply put: this ROCKS!!! Annica definitely █ █
█ █ impresses me with her strong, intricate and somewhat dark █ █
█ █ voice. According to the credits, all songs and lyrics on █ █
█ █ ôBadly Dreamingö were almost entirely written by Annica █ █
█ █ herself. First, the album was released on vinyl and later █ █
█ █ on CD - only to be available for a short period of time, a █ █
█ █ very limited edition indeed, creating a demand that raised █ █
█ █ auction prices sky high. Luckily ôBadly Dreamingö has been █ █
█ █ re-released - digitally remastered, including 5 bonus █ █
█ █ tracks from the very rare album by AnnicaÆs later band Pink █ █
█ █ Flamingo. The soundscape on this remastered edition is just █ █
█ █ phenomenal: well-balanced, hard-hitting & clear with a █ █
█ █ convincing breadth & depth demanded by this kind of █ █
█ █ tasteful, full-shaped hard rock. █ █
█ █ Once again, I just can't believe Annica fell into █ █
█ █ obscurity, I guess the music industry in Finland did not █ █
█ █ have enough knowledge, understanding and resources to █ █
█ █ properly give a good launch for a great artist like Annica. █ █
█ █ The story seems to be the same as with the Finnish heavy █ █
█ █ metal legends Tarot (who have persisted until this day), █ █
█ █ the music was top-of-the-line from the beginning, but the █ █
█ █ support was abysmal. Of course, the fanbase of both artists █ █
█ █ must have been hard core, if rather outnumbered against the █ █
█ █ greater audience of poppy dance music, back in the day. █ █
