| French outfit Les Umins, who found their way onto the roapmap |
| back in 2001 on the pretigious Yellow label with La Vendeuse De |
| Glaces, make their Icon debut with Star de la Nuit, a haunting |
| vocal cut that's certain to spark interest among those DJ's |
| playing house, tech house, and electro clash. Home and Garden's |
| Modern Living Mix is a complete departure from their Classic |
| Music Company material - exchanging the live sounds of the |
| rhodes, guitar, and sax for the analog synth stabs and |
| arpeggiated bass tones that synth pop bands of the 1980's were |
| known for. Think a modern day New Order sound here, refreshing |
| with a definitive nod to the past. Brett Johnson's Remix marks a |
| return to Icon for Brett. His Me Talk Pretty One Day EP was one |
| of the premier releases of 2003, and his Star de la Nuit remix |
| demonstrates why he is one of the most sought after producers. |
| His trademark tweeky sound is in full form here with the sweeping |
| bass and synth tones backed by the rearrangement and all-out |
| redefinition of the vocal. Welcome back indeed! Icon will |
| continue to turn up the heat as the temperature drops this Fall |
| and Winter with releases by Jazzy Eyewear (featuring remixes by |
| Swirl People, Cle, and Luke Sardello) and the debut of Vernon & |
| DaCosta and Slum Science (featuring Midas and Underground Culture |
| Tourist remixes). |
