            For Ini Kamoze, the road to success has been arduous and he has
            undergone many substantial changes musically and physically since he
            burst onto the music scene in 1983 with his highly successful
            eponymous debut album for Island. Known as 'The Hotstepper', Kamoze
            advocates change through what he calls 'intelligent and constructive
            militancy' rather than random acts of violence..

            Kamoze's career high-water might have been the single "Here Comes
            The Hotstepper" and the album with the same name. But the truth is
            that album was solely a compilation album put out by Columbia
            Records in 1995 to market Kamoze's name. In fact, Kamoze release two
            other album's in 1995, "Shocking Hours" for Greensleeves - and
            "Lyrical Gangsta" for EastWest/Elektra. The single "Listen To Me Tic
            (Woyoi)", which had collaborations with Da Brat, Jermaine Dupri,
            Sean Puffy Combs, David Morales and original producer 9 Sounds Klik,
            was a single off "Lyrical Gangsta".
