with his own Hexagons EP under the alias, RS4. Oris Jay is one of the most
respected underground electronic producers in the UK, with a multi-
dimensional character... RS4 is his house music alias. Sheffield-born Oris
Jay aka Darqwan has released for Planet Mu, Tectonic and also heads-up his
own critically acclaimed Texture imprint. Jays body of work draws in
breakbeat, garage and dubstep (a scene he laid the foundation stones for)
and his Sheffield heritage has seen him deliver a unique, Steel City vibe in
all he does. Opening track The Massive is a brooding cut with an infectious
square-wave bass line with a little taste of old school UKG. Leap of Faith
featuring the vocals of Iviee Mercutio is a warm, melodic affair with
tumbling synths while smooth subs and meandering keys dominate Station
House. Let Go closes the EP with electro synths and a determined, linear
arrangement.
