            As frontman in Hoola Bandoola Band, Mikael Wiehe became one of the
            most important musicians of the Swedish progressive movement. When
            the band broke up, as did the entire movement in the late 70s, Wiehe
            started a very successful solo career. Being part of the progressive
            movement in Sweden meant that you were expected to deliver a
            socialist message. Hoola Bandoola Band was at times accused of not
            being political enough, but in the 80s, when political music died,
            Wiehe and Bj÷rn Afzelius kept up the tradition, seemingly alone but
            to big success. They only recorded two albums together, but toured
            once in a while and were often regarded as an informal duo. Despite
            the rock and pop of Hoola Bandoola Band and some of the electric
            experiments in the 80s, Wiehe was mainly a singer/songwriter heavily
            inspired by early Bob Dylan. In his later career, he showed more
            influence from a traditional domestic tradition, and though his
            audience aged considerably during the 80s and early 90s, the late
            90s saw revived respect for political songs and brought a new
            audience.

            Det har gatt 50 ar sedan Mikael Wiehe stallde sig pa scen for forsta
            gangen. Sedan dess har han varit en av Sveriges framsta latskrivare
            och har turnerat flitigt. "Isolde" ar det andra albumet i en trilogi
            album som Mikael Wiehe gor med en kombination av rocksattning och
            folkmusiker. Trilogin inleddes med "En Gammal Man" 2012 och avslutas
            2014 med "Protestsanger".

            Dar det forra albumet hade en latt och lekfull ton, ar det nya
            albumet mer inatvant. Reflekterande rockmusik med en dov, men
            sensuell ton som genomsyrar bade de melankoliska och de mer
            hoppfulla sangerna. Resultatet ar ett tatt, rikt och pumpande sound,
            fran Byrds-jangle till new wave-mangel. Man har fangat bandets
            spontana energi och albumet bestar av manga magiska andra- och
            tredjetagningar, sakert forevigade av Dag Lundquist i
            Decibelstudion. "Isolde" rymmer ocksa suggestiva duetter med bade
            Joakim Thastrom och Eva Dahlgren.
