│║ A pretty heavy theme is what the men of Crimson ║ │
│║ Wind bring us on æThe Wings Of SalvationÆ. The ║ │
│║ album tells about a man who lost his wife and in ║ │
│║ a dream world between past, present and future ║ │
│║ is in dialogue with his conscience. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ Heavy stuff then? No, certainly not. Crimson ║ │
│║ Wind supports this theme with some good power ║ │
│║ metal. Titles like æHold Your DreamsÆ show that ║ │
│║ there can also be a positive approach to this ║ │
│║ theme. This song is also one of the best on the ║ │
│║ album. It is an up-tempo song with drumming like ║ │
│║ a horde of lose bulls is rattling by, great ║ │
│║ guitar riffs and also good synthesizer ║ │
│║ arrangements. This strong combination is ║ │
│║ something we can hear throughout the album which ║ │
│║ therefore delivers a constant quality. For fans ║ │
│║ of power metal who like to listen to bands like ║ │
│║ Iced Earth, Stratovarius and Gamma Ray this ║ │
│║ album is absolutely recommended. I doubt if ║ │
│║ Crimson Wind will be able to spring out in this ║ │
│║ crowded genre of power metal. They have the ║ │
│║ musical qualities, but also Crimson Wind shows ║ │
│║ that it is very hard to be renewing in this ║ │
│║ genre, despite this strong debut. ║ │
