│║ Ever heard of a German band called Infinte ║ │
│║ Horizon??? Well, if not and you like progressive ║ │
│║ power metal such as Symphony X, Threshold or ║ │
│║ Pagan's Mind, then you should definitely check ║ │
│║ them out and surf to their homepage and buy ║ │
│║ "Mind Passages". That record contains eleven ║ │
│║ tracks, and the CD is produced and mixed by the ║ │
│║ band. The production is clear and so are the ║ │
│║ songs!s ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ "The Way To Eternity" is full of great music, ║ │
│║ and the second one ("Return To Babylon") is just ║ │
│║ as phenomenal as the opener! Well, there are ║ │
│║ other great songs on the CD, such as the lyrical ║ │
│║ religious "Elysium" or the faster "Hole In The ║ │
│║ Sky" which is performed with the necessary ║ │
│║ aggression, but never forgets the ║ │
│║ progressiveness and the quality. There is the ║ │
│║ catchy "Daydreamer" again, the lyrics are really ║ │
│║ interesting, making the listener think about ║ │
│║ today's society. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ The following five songs are a little ║ │
│║ conceptional story named "Space Dream ║ │
│║ Navigation". A man, followed by happenings of ║ │
│║ bad luck, tries to flee from this cruel world ║ │
│║ but oscillates between reality and dream. After ║ │
│║ the introduction, "The Experiment" follows. A ║ │
│║ ten-minutes lasting heavy song, whose riffing ║ │
│║ and structures really reflect the desperation of ║ │
│║ the character. After the quiet interlude "Secret ║ │
│║ Invention", the man regrets his decision in the ║ │
│║ song "Face In The Mirror" but the song isn't as ║ │
│║ heavy as the ones mentioned before. The quite ║ │
│║ straight performed final "Eternal Salvation" ║ │
│║ brings no musical surprises. I had to smile at ║ │
│║ the end of this song, as the man wakes up in ║ │
│║ reality, turns his radio on and listens to the ║ │
│║ "current number one in the charts: "Space Dream ║ │
│║ Navigation" by Infinite Horizon! ;-) ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ The last song is a remade bonus, because "The ║ │
│║ Reaper" was first recorded for a 1999 MCD. A ║ │
│║ dark song, reminding me of Angel Dust, maybe ║ │
│║ because of the keyboards. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ Unfortunately, I can't rate the CD with more ║ │
│║ than five points but I would if I could! It can ║ │
│║ be only a matter of time until the band gets ║ │
│║ bigger, they surely have the stuff be a great ║ │
│║ band in the power-prog-genre in the future. I ║ │
│║ can hardly wait to see them doing a headliner ║ │
│║ tour!!! ║ │
