Gaston have been playing together as a quintet for about a year
now. The band started as a three-piece in 2000 formed by
brothers Wilm & Jan Thoben and Jan Ferdinand playing music on
two basses and a drumkit with the occasional use of vibes. We
recorded our first 10" record "#1" with sound engineer and
friend Micha Bucur in a rehersal room on the outskirts of
Berlin. After its release on Becalmed Records (UK) in July 2002
we played shows in Germany and U.K.
Some months later Jochen Briesen and Soeren Schrader joined us
and we began to swop instruments (drumkit/perc., basses,
guitars, vibes). We focused on touring more extensively and
will do so in the future.
This is the new Album from Gaston.
