│║ Live Between The Eyes is the title of the ║ │
│║ filming of the historic concert of Rainbow in ║ │
│║ San Antonio - Texas, conducted in August 1982 ║ │
│║ has been released on October 16, 2006, to the ║ │
│║ delight of fans worldwide Rainbow. ║ │
│║ This recital is part of the tour for the album ║ │
│║ Straight Between The Eyes (1982), hence the name ║ │
│║ of the film. It also includes some tracks from ║ │
│║ the album Difficult to Cure (1981): spotligt ║ │
│║ Kid, Can not Happen Here and instrumental ║ │
│║ Vielleicht nΣchste Das Mal (Maybe Next Time) and ║ │
│║ Beethoven's Ninth, the latter also known as the ║ │
│║ Difficult to Cure. ║ │
│║ Rounding out the set list, All Night Long LP ║ │
│║ Down to Earth (1979) and Long Live Rock 'n' Roll ║ │
│║ LP of the same name in 1978, which are songs ║ │
│║ originally sung by Graham Bonnet and Ronnie ║ │
│║ James Dio, respectively. ║ │

│║ Although Rainbow competing in those years with ║ │
│║ Deep Purple, no shortage of nods to the band, ║ │
│║ since small fragments Lazy, Woman from Tokyo, ║ │
│║ Child in Time and finally Smoke on the Water ║ │
│║ (half-track), are executed masterfully . ║ │
│║ On the performance of the musicians in this ║ │
│║ concert, just look at the pictures to see how ║ │
│║ well it was this training afiatada Rainbow, ║ │
│║ known as the Mk 8. ║ │
│║ If it is true, the band revolved around Ritchie ║ │
│║ Blackmore and Roger Glover, both graduates of ║ │
│║ the school Deep Purple, it is also true to say ║ │
│║ that the other members are tremendous musicians ║ │
│║ on merit. ║ │
│║ Of the latter, I highlight the vocalist Joe Lynn ║ │
│║ Turner, who very decently sung topics All Night ║ │
│║ Long and Long Live Rock 'n' Roll, the early ║ │
│║ stages of Rainbow and even difficult Smoke On ║ │
│║ The Water, emulating the high notes of Ian ║ │
│║ Gillan (very difficult). ║ │
│║ Meanwhile, David Rosenthal stands as an amazing ║ │
│║ keyboardist who is not daunted by the challenge ║ │
│║ that makes him bat Blackmore and unapologetic to ║ │
│║ a musical duel with it. Spectacular. ║ │
│║ The charismatic drummer Bobby Rondinelli no ║ │
│║ slouch efficiently perform their work during the ║ │
│║ show and his drum solo has a peculiar way of ║ │
│║ giving right and left sticks. Quite a show. ║ │
│║ Where there are other little injuries is almost ║ │
│║ the end of the recital, Blackmore becomes ║ │
│║ ecstatic to Hendrix when he played a snippet of ║ │
│║ Kill the King, and then smashes his guitar to ║ │
│║ pieces distributed among the fans. This action ║ │
│║ Blackmore really is exciting, pure waste of ║ │
│║ talent and energy, from the first song to the ║ │
│║ last. ║ │

│║ Finally, it is fair to mention the immense work ║ │
│║ by the duo vocals: Dee Beale and Lin Robinson. ║ │
│║ Actually the whole show choirs are superb. ║ │
