The latest composition of the Austrian multi-instrumentalist
whose name originated from J.R.R. TOLKIEN┤s "LORD OF THE RINGS"
is a very powerful, refreshing and modern statement of a
many-sided musician, who proved in his career throughout more
than twenty years that it is also possible to be internationally
successful making music off the mainstream.
People who have been knowing GANDALF┤s music for many years
spontaneously call this album one of his definitely best The
artist succeeded in producing music due to the most recent
sound-standards by using most advanced studio-technologies, and
still capturing some of the magical power of his very early
works. Somehow this production seems to complete a very old
circle.
Statement of GANDALF himself:
"I have been working on this production for quite a long time
and if you are too much involved within a process, you don┤t
have distance enough to be able to value what you are doing. I
basically just followed the music that came up, somehow got on
this journey. This is quite exciting, you never know where you
finally end up.
When I had finished recording and listened to the whole thing
together with friends, everybody was very enthusiastic about the
results and I realized that something special had happened. It
seems I have found something like a long lost stone. In some way
this CD connects with those six of my early albums that have
been released by WEA and with which people today still associate
my music.
Of course I have developed musically and technically and a lot
of things have changed in my life since then, meanwhile my grown
up son, CHRISTIAN, plays with me as well, but in the heart one
seems to remain the same and this is where the music
originates."
The current huge success of fantasy-stories like "HARRY POTTER",
"ATLANTIS" and last not least PETER JACKSON┤s film-trilogy "THE
LORD OF THE RINGS" (in the meantime the name of the magician,
GANDALF, is on almost everyone┤s mind) shows us, that in times
where terrorism, war and natural disasters are on the daily
news, people have a great demand for a counterbalance to all
those negative things and GANDALF┤s music is synonymous for
positive thinking.
