Monkeytribe and their vocalist MC Soom T have been receiving
a large amount of attention recently, for Soom TÆs work with
Monkeytribe (the debut single on BerlinÆs Meteosound Records
"Delaware" and follow up ep with remixes by Thomas Fehlmann
have been widely praised), but also for SoomÆs feature on
BusÆs stunning album "Middle of the Road" (~Scape records),
and forthcoming releases guesting with ambient pioneers The
Orb on the single æAftermath,Æ out in May 2004. Following
this will be T.RaumschmiereÆs (Mute) much anticipated single
release of æA Million Brothers,Æ again penned and performed
by Soom T. With Monkeytribe, Soom T is on home turf and is
allowed to explore her vocal ideas to the full, with
everything from ambient decedance to bizarre industrial pop
to guide her. This album is the beginning of the journey
which even now is wandering off into the underbush to get
spiked on the nettles of old skool techno, before being
wrenched back onto the path of sanity by hip hop and all it
is good at."
