=============================================================================
Downtempo recording from the Pussyfoot Label.
"Written for the most part in Sie's bedroom enclave 'Ruban D'Alpha'
features guest vocals from Luke Haines (of Auteurs and Baader
Meinhof notoriety) and Jenny Devivo (remember 'Love Is All I Live
For' on pussy 002). the remainder of the tracks are instrumental,
deploying cut-up beats, subterranean bass and those trademark
filtered hats that swing like a chinchilla on a bungee.
Those of you that have heard the 12" will have sampled the delights
of 'V-Chip' and 'Chinese Elvis' but yo'll be shedding tears when
'Cry (The rest)' washes over you on a tide of emotion. kick back
with the rolling snares of 'Radio Nova' (written after a night of
dropping pressure on the parisian air waves) or check out the
glittering heavens as sie orbits the moon at 'Lunar Distance'. give
your brain waves a sonic journey - enter the auditory experience of
'sie-fi'........"

1. Ruban D'Alpha 60 bpm
Named after the brain waves that are given off during the activity
known as e.s.p. Sie drops a 60bpm intro that eases you in gently.
2. Ciru Catena 94.6 bpm
A chain of three craters from mars, this goes to show that if you
watch 'the sky at night' for long enough you'll be spouting latin
like a roman. Seriously though space cadets, study the cosmos and
you too could exchange casual astronomic banter with Sie.
3. Radio Nova 101 bpm
After Sie and Dobie dropped a two hour set on paris' underground
radio station last year Sie returned and wrote this gallic gem to
celebrate the occasion. strings with more suspension than a citroen
ds and beats that smoke like Jean-Paul Belmondo with a fresh pack of
gauloises.
4. Invation 116 bpm
Hoo sez musishuns ar illiterut? - Sie the wily wordsmith gets clever
with a hybrid of innovation and invasion - and why is the track
titled thus? "hmmm............dunno" said Sie. Too much cranberry
juice again!
5. Brand New Member 122 bpm
Written just after the birth of his nephew Sie proves that he's just
a big pussycat after all. Whether the little chap in question is
ready for this multi-layered electro assault is another question
entirely but we're sure that one day he'll be throwing down the
moves to this one.
6. V-Chip 130 bpm
If you bothered to read the press release on the 12" then you'll
know all about this one. if you didn't then we'll leave you with
Sie's ominous words to ponder: "The horrors of t.v. in the 90's" -
Pussyfoots very own Mary Whitehouse? You must be fahkin' jokin'
matey!
7. Frozen Orange 98 bpm
A collaboration with Luke Haines, the ethos was clearcut - Sie did
the music and Luke wrote the lyrics - however the question remains:
was it serendipity or a masterplan? Answers on a postcard to pussy
h.q. - winner gets struck off the mailing list for being too clever
for their puss'n'boots!
8. Lunar Distance 85.5 bpm
Heading back up to the final frontier, Sie gets down with some zero-
gravity and goes for a spacewalk. As he drifts up there, high over
the sea of tranquillity, telescopes all over the world home in on
his craft but only the guy manning the hubble telescope can see the
little figure, marker pen in hand, scrawling a message to the rest
of mankind on the side of his thruster: "There ain't no pussy in
space!"
9. Cry (the rest) 156 bpm
A collaboration with Jenny Devivo, it's a string-laden breakbeat
ballad that left both writers a little worse for wear in the tears
of joy department (it was one of the final album sessions). Even
scottish hard-man Howie was moved to send an express delivery of
interflora's finest.
10. Ruban D'Alpha (reprise) 60 bpm
Sie goes out on the cyclical tip, bringing things full circle. It's
the sonic equivalent of a pussy chasing it's tail so rewind and
check out the sound 0f 'Sie-Fi'.........
