with the latest freerange release yennah turn out a beautiful
slice of electronic jazz and beats entitled 'dyadic shift', giving
a nice little taster of their forthcoming lp.

kirk degiorgio delivers a tough remix, stripping down the original
to the bare elements and cranking it up for some minimal techno
action whilst the audiomontage bonus beat mix goes deep
underground with an abstract batucada/house fusion.

'scribble' rounds off the ep with some fat headnodding business
complete with twisted bass, philly strings and some horns.

     reviews

most dancefloor friendly material yet from the freerange farm.
kirk de giorgio strips and spanks the original into tech house
form leaving jimpster to rework thumping kick drums and batacada
rhythms into a serious latino house mix.

     found sounds, dj - 3/1/2000

kirk degiorgio, one of dance music's most under appreciated
geniuses, unleashes one of the best remixes of his career. like a
space age remodelling of pharaoh saunders' sound, degiorgio's airy
synth banks, electro-bass lines, modulated flute riffs and swathes
of ambience are a spiritual experience.

     tomas, xlr8r - 6/1/2000

this combo of soothing detroit chord washes and breakbeats,
probably more of a second room tune, gets a punchier reworking
from kirk degiorgio and a rio carnival makeover of batucada beats
and rumbling bass from jamie odell.

     mike shallcross, mixmag - 7/1/2000

yennah use elements of house, trip hop and jazz to shape their
blissful soundscapes. this package has an added bonus in the form
of a fantastically funky kirk de giorgio remix. techno for lazy
     summer days.

     dave mothersole, muzik - 7/1/2000

kirk strips it down to the rawest funk (since bootsy collins got
caught outside in his y's) while odell tribalises the rhythm
section in a deep house stylee. i've said it before and i'll say
it again - feel the quality, baby.
