straight ahead recordings is an independent label based in zurich
who's aim it is to break the boundaries between the styles of
abstract beats, hip hop, jazz, techno, soul, electro, drum'n'bass
and dub. founded by chris breitschmid, alex dallas and alex
gustafson, the initial idea of the imprint is to build a home and
a platform for swiss and foreign producers who have the strong and
intense feel for open-mindedness.
always on the run to create something that sounds different the
artists represent the open-mindedness of the label and reflect
also the love for fusion. straight ahead music has been played by
the likes of gilles peterson, 4Hero, patrick forge, jazzanova,
kruder & dorfmeister and many other amazing djs. with artists like
earthbound, freeform arkestra, sequel, mijatoho, tweak, domenico
ferrari, and hidden agenda there's a warranty for versatility and
originality and also a love to release music for people with an open
mind. the goals of the label are to establish new music, open doors
and believe in their artists. straight ahead is ready to go a long
way because at the end of a day it's about music.
