Mees Dierdorp - known for his majestic
melodic productions, is yet again
delivering to the world something
special on October 13, 2014, with his
newest EP Aviar Alom, out on Eskimo
Recordings. A true musician at heart,
Mees' latest works Aviar Alom and Las
Paranas speak volumes, as they
represent his unique sound which
conveys a burning creative soul at its
core. Mees tells a story behind each
track, making this EP even more
personable, representing friendships,
love, connections, struggle and
stories.
Aviar Alom - Instantly hooks you in
with its dreamy intro of twinkling keys
and nostalgic melodies, breaking out
into an electric guitar which flows
into an array of instruments. It's
exactly the kind of track which has a
hypnotizing effect - allowing you to
get lost in the music and to feel it
deep within your soul. Mees tells his
personal story of why he titled it
Aviar Alom - " One of my oldest friends
stayed over for a weekend last year.
This wonderful being turned deaf when
she was 12 years old and experiences
music in a different way nowadays:
through touch and feeling. When I was
working on this song she entered the
room with her always delightful smile
and shouted: Aviar Alom!"
Las Paranas - Peaceful rain drops
paired with beautiful piano keys, in
which the sounds of the guitar join a
contagious bass line - makes this
masterpiece special, as it showcases
the unique way in which Mees truly
seeks out the artist within him. Mees
titled this one Las Paranas as he says
"During the time I was living in Spain,
my friendly neighbor always talked
about his fish, his wife and the
himalaya. It was only three years later
I found out his grandfather was eaten
by piranhas, and six years later when I
discovered my best friend originates
from a little town in the Philippines
called Paranas. This song is dedicated
to a life full of struggle, love,
connections and stories, with my
neighbour and best friend in the alleys
of my memories."
