│ │
│ Vromb is a one man project which appeals to different electronic and │
│ industrial roots as well as imaginary landscapes of rusted and spinning │
│ rotors. Free from gravity, these strange rhythmic lifeforms born from │
│ disused factories and psycho scientists are like the perfect bunker │
│ soundtracks. Sometimes the bunkers change into rockets silos and Vromb │
│ feels then ready for a space program. │
│ │
│ Telepherique is family affair. Led by Klaus, Danijela & Rene Jochim, │
│ Telepherique is a pot of powerful forces, magma and images, rhythms and │
│ voices, melancholy and energy. Their music is one of the best and most │
│ beautiful extension of industrial music. Always moving, like a river, │
│ like air, it's rich enough to become a complete cinema. │
│ │
│ Vromb opens with two tracks that seem to focus on humanity and the │
│ cosmos, an eclectic bricolage of sounds and pulses at once soothing and │
│ energising in their contrasted layering of timbres, nebulously forming │
│ an inexorable impetus. Compositing a spacey, retro sci-fi atmosphere, │
│ these pieces are rather neutral in mood--though combining the ambiance, │
│ the infrequent vocal samples, and the track titles (Le Prisonier │
│ Sideral, 12 Avril 1961), one can't help but conjure meditative images of │
│ the first man in space, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, or the implacable │
│ light of stars laving mechanical assemblies on the Earth's surface. │
│ │
│ Telepherique's tracks are more evocative affairs: somewhat foreboding, │
│ even ominous in tone, with dark drone-like passages and entrancing │
│ mechano-tribal rhythms. Refreshing in one sense in particular, giving │
│ listeners something more solid to ensconce themselves within. Like their │
│ coeval opus Bionik, there is an organic element to these songs' │
│ structures, an appealing integration with the technical. │
│ │
│ The collaborative efforts blend well, combining Vromb's cinematic veneer │
│ and disparate accretion of esoteric sounds in a more versatile way with │
│ the underlying fluid cohesion of Telepherique's more evocative │
│ compositions, creating textured, sporadic fluctuations of urgent volume │
│ and rhythm, interspersed with hypnotic spaces. │
