It only took Mineral three years - 1994 to 1997 - to create an impact that has
lasted forever. With two records that sealed the emo template forever with loud
and quiet dynamics, intense, emotional lyrics being whispered and screamed into
microphones, and guitars that chime, clash and hit ear-shattering crescendos,
their place in US rock history was assured. Now back together, boasting vinyl
and CD reissues of those seminal records - 'The Power of Failing' (1996) and
'EndSerenading' (1998, released after they'd split up) - and touring again,
they're back seemingly to finish what they pioneered and to show us all how it
was meant to end. They are the first and last word, and that word is rejoice.
