│ ôBring On Happinessö marks the triumphant, anticipated return │
│ from Chicago-based band, LÆALTRA, and a new chapter in the │
│ bandÆs history. Formed way back in 1999, the core songwriters of │
│ LÆALTRA are JOSEPH COSTA & LINDSAY ANDERSON (a collaborator with │
│ fellow Chicago peers like SLICKER, TELEFON TEL AVIV, │
│ PULSEPROGRAMMING, etc), in addition to a large cast of guest │
│ musicians. With several previous releases on the AESTHETICS │
│ label, LÆALTRA have now found a new home here with HEFTY │
│ Records, not to mention a new twist to their trademark sound. │
│ │
│ Known for their lush, elegiac, melancholic output, LÆALTRAÆs new │
│ songs embrace an equal blend of live instrumentation and │
│ electronics, all with a decidedly pop structure in mind. │
│ Sounding much more vibrant & confident than ever before, these │
│ new songs were all carefully guided by the skillful & tasteful │
│ influence of producer, engineer, contributor JOSHUA EUSTIS (of │
│ TELEFON TEL AVIV). Recorded during the summer/winter of 2004, │
│ the gorgeous LÆALTRA full length album, entitled Different Days, │
│ will not be released until January 2005. For now, we offer a │
│ taste of what is to come with the precursor single ôBring On │
│ Happinessö. If you think you know LÆALTRA, now is the time to │
│ sit up and pay attention once again. Prepare to be smitten by │
│ one of the best male/female vocal duos this side of LOW, GALAXIE │
│ 500, YO LA TENGO or SLOWDIVE. │
│ │
│ ôBring On...ö features the album version of the single, as well │
│ as a brand new song, ôSoft Collapseö (exclusive only to this │
│ single), co-produced by MARC HELLNER (of PULSEPROGRAMMING) & │
│ JOSHUA EUSTIS. Rounding things out is a great, beat-heavy remix │
│ of the single by fellow HEFTY artist, SLICKER. --hefty │
