"here we are again - back on the block with the second part of the
OFF LIMITS compilation. the cd is again compiled and mixed by our
sonar kollektiv member dj dixon and covers a typical set in his
resident club wmf (berlin, germany). his brilliant mixture of prime
deep house and offbeat cuts shows the "status-quo" of new
house-styles.
the artists represented here - such as phil asher (restless soul),
king britt (sylk 130), beanfield, swag or jazzanova - are a part of
a key-network that expands around the world... a world in which
dixon has gained a wide-spread recognition for his taste and skills
as a deejay.
this compilation shows his ability to communicate in this world: in
japan, philly, paris, vienna or berlin. dixon has managed to find a
common denominator in house, leaving the ghost "nu-jazz" which has
been haunting europe behind.
face-it: this is world music and Dixon makes it possible to select
an array of tracks that represent a certain musical spectrum
without having to be categorized.
and last but not least: the georg levin track "when i am with you"
(which was produced by dixon himself) will be released the first
time here and is already a hit for a lot of djs from around the
world (king britt, dj yellow, anthony nicholson, jazzanova)." -
sonarkollektiv.de
shouts to deep house (dh) for releasing the first part of this
amazing series. this is probably the best "can you dance to my
beat?" compilation of the year. amazing.
