     One of Kim Hiorthy`s trademarks are the field recordings or
     environmental sounds in his music. As XLR8R Magazine recently
     explained it in their Future Folk article (Nov 2003):
     Hiorthoy`s album Heiö is characterized by the random,
     ramshackle sounds heard around the house: refridgerator doors
     opening, answering machine messages, pots and pans clanging.
     But where Matthew Herbert, Akufen or Matmos might transform
     these sounds into virtually untraceable items, Hiorthoy leaves
     them as they are
     These ônoisesö are very important for Hiorthoy`s music, and he
     has been collecting sounds for his music for a long time.
     Collecting all these sounds he came up with the idea of doing
     an album with just these sounds and no music. The result is
     "For The Ladies". A different release maybe, but also an
     important part of the work of Kim Hiorthoy. The album comes in
     slim-line card packaging with a booklet with beautiful drawings
     as well as a poster.
