| |
| After their nice accustic tour in spring Archive now presents those |
| slow and silent arrangements on their new Unplugged. It is recorded |
| live in front of a selective audience at Studio Davout, in Paris |
| December 2003. Most songs are from their last album Noise, only |
| track 4, Girlfriend In A Coma, which is a Smiths Cover and the last |
| track Run are new, though its worth to get to know Archives new |
| silence. All tracks are performed by Chris Walker (Guitar and |
| Vocals), Darius Keeler (Piano) and Steve Harris (Guitar). Bruno |
| Green participated on track 4 and 5 (Guitar). |

| Mit Unplugged untermauern Archive zum wiederholten Mal ihre |
| stilistische VielfΣltigkeit. Geh÷rten die Briten 1996 mit dem |
| feinen Album Londinium noch ins TripHop-Lager, waren sie spΣtestens |
| mit You All Look The Same To Me zum Progressiv-Rock ⁿbergelaufen. |
| Noise zementierte diesen Wandel, und genau dieses Album bildet das |
| Fundament von Unplugged, das Resultat unzΣhliger Akustik-Shows. Die |
| ursprⁿnglich ⁿppig arrangierten Stⁿcke wurden auf ein Minimum |
| reduziert, und in seiner Nacktheit kann ein Song beweisen, ob er |
| Substanz besitzt. Was hier der Fall ist, insbesondere weil Craig |
| Walker mit seinem hingebungsvollen Gesang das Gitarren- und |
| Pianospiel von Danny Griffiths und Darius Keeler mit Leben fⁿllt. |
| Die beiden Archive-Grⁿnder halten das Tempo der Songs niedrig, |
| haben ihnen bewusst die Kraft und den Rock genommen und somit die |
| zarte Seite freigelegt. Manchmal, wie in dem Song "Conscience" |
| outen sich Archive ⁿberdeutlich, wie sehr Pink Floyd sie |
| beeinflusst haben. Dann aber lehnen sie sich mit der Coverversion |
| des Smiths-Klassikers "Girlfriend In A Coma" weit aus dem Fenster |
| ... ohne abzustⁿrzen. Unplugged ist ⁿber 40 Minuten hinweg ein |
| sehr intimes und stillen Albums, dessen Finale der |
| unver÷ffentlichte Track, die spartanisch vorgetragene "Run" bildet. |

: Founded in 1998 by a bunch of german geeks, UBE was one of the :
| first groups in the mp3 scene, when only a dirty dozen of them |
| were there. Ever since we did quality releases, instead of |
| focusing on quantity like it is done by most groups today. |
| |
| UBE is a group of friends, friendly and open-minded, and so we |
| seek for new friends, not just ripping machines. And we are |
| probably the group doing the most parties ;) |
| When you apply you have to be a little bit patient, |
| we need some time to get to know you. |
| |
| Over time we have grown to a quite big group with nearly 50 |
| Members, scattered all over the world, but most of them from |
| Germany. |
| In UBE there is no duty to release something, we don't force our |
| members into releasing a specific amount, since this only leads |
| to crappy releases. Stuff you can buy at some gas station is not |
| really worth ripping. |
| |
| Besides releasing you can help us in many ways, we seek for |
| programming experts, linux gurus,security experts and (legit) |
| shell providers as well, just to name some examples. |
| |
| In addition, UBE membership doesn't expire, we don't kick idle |
| friends. If you can behave you will stay with us forever, so |
| don't ever try to take advantage of our friendly attitude. |
| And, in UBE is no place for racism or other kinds of extremists, |
| and if you are some ego please go somewhere else. |
| |
| People should care a lot more about their and other people's |
| security. |
| Get educated and think before you start to talk or even act. |
| There is a growing gap between the ones that do think about |
| security and the ones that don't, try to avoid a split. |
