║ ║ ║ Amazon.com essential recording ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ Though they'd recorded three previous albums, Kraftwerk's ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ modern pop legacy starts with the sounds of a few footsteps ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ and a slamming car door--the beginning of a 22-minute ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ musically impressionistic excursion down Germany's famed ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ superhighway. An unexpected hit on both sides of the ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ Atlantic, Autobahn's "fahren, fahren, fahren" refrain echoes ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ "Fun, Fun, Fun" by the Beach Boys (just one of Kraftwerk's ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ unlikely influences), while the entire concept recalls Brian ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ Wilson's frustrated attempts at creating what he called "a ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ pocket symphony." The rhythmic synth pulse that carries the ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ title track will be familiar to Kraftwerk admirers, while ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ cofounder Florian Schneider's flute work and other more ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ delicate melodic touches hearken back to the band's ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ prog-rock foundations (as do the atmospheric "Kometenmelodie ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ 1 & 2," "Mitternacht," and "Morgenspaziergang"). Kraftwerk's ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ fascination with technology has been well documented, but ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ the revelation of Autobahn is the playful human spirit ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ behind the robots' masks. --Jerry McCulley ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ What the Critics Say: ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ Continuing the very welcome Kraftwerk-at-mid-price series, ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ these three releases now mean that seven of the group's ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ landmark albums are available for less than the price of a ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ Modem. On import, it was a close-run thing. ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ Autobahn (1974), their breakthrough album, was actually ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ their fourth (if one includes Ralf Hutter and Florian ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ Schneider-Esleben's duo set, Ralf & Florian (1900)). ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ Autobahn's title track took up the entire first side: 23 ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ minutes of synthetically simulated road miles, with several ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ fascinating segments and hauntingly lovely tunes. A ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ remarkable journey-and one that begs to be heard on ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ headphones-Autobahn was edited down to a short drive the ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ following year, reaching Number 4 in the UK single charts. ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ Kommetenmelodie 2 is the brightest and best of the four ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ shorter pieces on side two. ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ Trans-Europe Express (1977), the one that we're often told ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ changed the face of American dance music, was split into a ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ trio of songs roughly about identity loss (including the ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ sinister Hall Of Mirrors); and a medley depicting a ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ train-ride through Europe, vivid and futuristic, and set to ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ one of the most compelling beats of this or any other era. ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ Electric Cafe (1986) arrived three years after the ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ mysterious last-minute cancellation of an album called ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ Techno Pop (1900). The long-delayed successor to 1981's ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ classic Computer World, Electric Cafe was the first time in ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ over a decade that Kraftwerk were boring. The side-long ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ techno suite was an almost total turn-off, while only The ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ Telephone Call showed any hint of their often-overlooked ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ melody mischief. The follow-up? Nine years and counting. ║ ║ ║

║ ║ ║ Rabid Neurosis was established in 1995 and since 1996 we have║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ been dedicated to bringing the highest possible quality to ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ the mp3 community. It is rumored that we only rip rap, hip ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ hop, and r&b, well, this is simply a rumor, granted that ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ this type of music is the mainstream at the moment, so of ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ course a lot of this genre is going to get done, but we do ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ other types of music (rock, ska, punk, techno, bootlegs, pop,║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ etc) as well. Currently we are not looking for any members ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ unless you have some exceptional background in either the mp3║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ warez or iso scene and/or have something exceptional to offer║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ to the group (pre-release ripper, t3/linux/30gb+ us/euro Site║ ║ ║

║ ║ ║ Zero Music Inc. is RNS's official couriers (irc/ext ftp). The║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ reason for doing this is that it was felt by us, that RNS ║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ should be focusing on releasing and not the mass distribution║ ║ ║
║ ║ ║ of our music, they will handle the xdcc's and ftp couriering ║ ║ ║
