With Luvless the Black Ops camp adds yet another fresh face to its roster.
Over the past years the Leipzig native made a name for himself with
releases on his lovely own Rose Records imprint and esteemed labels like
Tsuba and FOTO. If you re partial to carefully arranged, classy piano-led
deep house business, his new Part of Me EP should tickle your pickle. Lead
track In My Arms is a bottom-heavy mid-tempo burner with a driving piano
melody and yearning vocals that slowly works towards a breakdown of
monumental proportions. Balance on a Beam on the flip is a slightly beefier
affair, blending tight tambourine-like snares, sultry male vocals and
chunky hiphop-ish sampling style with Luvless moody synth lines and crisp
drums. Closing track A Precious Kind of Love offers more trademark Luvless
deepness, nicely rounding off the package with its spaced out beats,
glittery percussion and more cut-up samples. As always, this is a limited,
vinyl only release. It will not be repressed and will not be released
digitally. Not now, not ever
