starting out as a drummer in various parisian jazz ensembles in the
eighties, stephane lefrancois a.k.a. blissom emigrated to canada in
the early nineties and although he was heavily immersed in the elec-
tronic music of the day, he spent most of the nineties as a session
drummer and as the driving-force behind a slew of musical ensembles.
when rise ashen and stephane lefrancois met in '90, they had no idea
what lay ahead. dozens of bands and recordings later, the two are
still making music together. in their joint lp from 1999, down and
uptempo breaks from the duo are joined by remixes of chris saracino,
tamara williamson, and melisse lafrance.
